Ability Dice – Sets of dice with the same value rolled during Initiative Phase

Activation advantage – ability to activate fighters more times than the opponent

Aethercannon – Grundstok Thunderer with aether cannon, fighter from Kharadron Overlords faction

Ally – Fighter included in warband from other faction within the same grand alliance

Annie – Annihilator, fighter from Stormcast Eternals Thunderstrike faction

Anvil – Durable fighter that can survive strong attacks

AoS faction – Faction without Dedicated Warcry box, where specific fighters are acquired from Age of Sigmar boxes

AT – Askurgan Trueblades faction

Battlepack – Set of Battleplans, often in a structure ready to be played during tournament

Battleplan – Mission description including victory conditions and sometimes exceptions from general rules. In most situations it also include deployment map. Can also include Twist

Bespoke faction – Faction released specifically for Warcry with all the faction profiles available from the same box.

Bladeborn Fighters – Fighters from Warhammer Underworlds warbands with Warcry fighter profiles

Blessings – Divine Blessings, optional rules from WD available HERE

Body blocking – Denying access to certain locations by positioning on only available path

BoCH/BoC – Beasts of Chaos faction

Brewgit – Gloomspite Gitz fighter from Gobbapalooza

Calthia – Calthia Xandire, bladeborn fighter from Stormcast Eternals Thunderstrike faction

Chaff/Chafe – cheap “disposable” fighters

Chamber – Stormcast Eternals “subfaction”

Charge – Ability (most often double) that lets you do bonus move action

Clawback – fighter from Gorger Mawpack

Claw – Huanchi’s Claw fighter from Hunters of Huanchi faction

Core Book battlepack – 6 matched play battleplans published in Core Book (free rules PDF include only 2 of them)

CoS – Cities of Sigmar faction

Cyreni Cyreni of the Abyss, bladeborn fighter from Idoneth Deepkin faction

Defense – Toughness characteristic

Deployment Map – the map showing location and time of deployment of all players deployment groups

Deployment Point – area on deployment map within 3” of which you will deploy your deployment group, marked by the symbol of that group

Deployment group – part of your warband labelled Dagger, Hammer or Shield that is deployed together

Divine Blessings – Optional rules from WD available HERE

DoK – Daughters of Khaine faction

DPA/DPAx – (Average) “Damage per activation” against a target with Toughness X, if X is not provided it is often assumed X=4.

Dragon – Mobile fighter capable of quickly killing cheaper fighters(chaff), also Zombie Dragon monster

Elite warband – Warband with 6 or less fighters

Engulfing Flames – “Engulfing Flame of Dark Artifice” ability from Horns of Hashut faction

FEC – Flesh-Eater Courts faction

Flamehurler – Demolisher with flamehurler, fighter from Horns of Hashut faction

Frog – Slann Starmaster fighter from Seraphon faction

FFP – Fight for Profit ability from Kharadron Overlords

FOMO – Fomoroid Crusher, ally available in Chaos grand Alliance (sometimes “Fear of missing out”)

GBS – Great Brey-Shaman, fighter from Beasts of Chaos faction

GG – Grave Guard, fighter from Soulblight Gravelords faction

Grand Alliance – Death, Destruction, Chaos and Order. Set of factions that can share fighters with “Hero” runemark as allies.

GSG – Gloomspite Gitz faction

GW – Games Workshop

Hammer deployment group, but also a fighter capable of dealing a lot of damage

Headkrakka – Hedkrakka, Gob of Gork, bladeborn fighter from Bonesplitterz faction

Horde warband – Warband with 10+ fighters

HoH – Horns of Hashut or Hunters of Huanchi faction

Horns – Horns of Hashut faction

Hrothgorn – Hrothgorn Mantrapper, bladeborn fighter from Ogor Mawtribes faction

Hunters – Hunters of Huanchi or Wildercorps Hunters faction

IDK – Idoneth Deepkin faction

IJ – Ironjawz faction

John – Warcry Lead Game Developer

Midrange – fighter that is too big to be considered chaff and too small to be a serious threat. Most often have profile similar to Chaos Warrior. Also a name for an archetype based on such fighters.

MMR – Might Makes Right, ability from Ogor Mawtribes

Mortals – Non deamon faction for specific Chaos God

Myari – Myari Lightcaller, bladeborn fighter from Lumineth Realm-Lords faction

Narrative – Set of rules intended for playing with the same warband (that will change and evolve over time) over a campaign

Neave – Neave Blacktalon, fighter from The Blacktalons

Net – Ability (most often double that also require passing 3+ roll) that prevent enemy fighter from doing move and disengage actions that turn

Norcry – Reoccurring Warcry tournament from Norway

NPE – Negative Play Experience

OBR – Ossiarch Bonereapers faction

Resurrection – Ability (at the moment of writing this it’s always a triple) that lets you deploy previously taken down fighters

RB/RBF – Royal Beastflayers faction

Rumble Pack – common name for WARCRY RUMBLE: GNARLWOOD CHAMPION battlepack

SATW – Swift as the Wind ability from Cities of Sigmar, Tempest Eye faction (no longer in the game)

SBL/SBGL – Soulblight Gravelords faction

Screening Body blocking access to your important fighters with your disposable fighters (called screen in this context)

Singles – Unique dice results rolled during Initiative Phase

Skabbik – Skabbik Plagueseeker, bladeborn fighter from Skaven faction

SoS/Strength of Schedule – Tiebraker where strength of your opponents decide your standings (the easiest way to calculate it is to sum tournament points of all your opponents)

S2D/StD – Slaves to Darkness faction

Soup – Warband featuring allies (usually 2) and often thralls

Snirk – Snirk Sourtongue, bladeborn fighter from Gloomspite Gitz faction

Squid – Cephanyr, bladeborn fighter from Idoneth Deepkin faction

Tanari – Warqueen Tanari, fighter from Darkoath faction

TC – Teratic Cohort faction

TE – Tempest Eye, “subfaction” of Cities of Sigmar (no longer in the game)
